30 years after the release of the cult film “The Search for Animal Chin” the Bones Brigade got a 2nd chance to skate the legendary Animal Chin. The production was packed with heavy skating, lots of nostalgia and genuine sense of camaraderie for everyone involved. 900 Films proudly produced the 30 minute show for ABC that was broadcasted on World of X.
900 Films is proud to have produced the televised broadcast of the first ever Skatercross skateboard race. The show aired on ABC's "World of X Games" and was hosted by Tony Hawk, Todd Richards, and correspondent Corbin Harris.
A couple weeks back, Tony Hawk had an idea that he really wanted to attempt another 900 on the 17th anniversary from him first 900 make during the X Games. Now at 48 the challenge would take on a new meaning. Sure he's completed dozens of 900's in the first 10 years following the one at the 1999 X Games. But to take a long break from one of your hardest tricks and then muster the courage and energy to plan a date and make or break it is admirable. This is one my my favorite images from the multiple tries. This is the point where you decide to walk away or battle on. As you probably know, Tony made the trick and the quick video we created received over 4 million views in the following 3 days.
Tony Hawk makes 900 at age 48!
900 Films conceptualized, filmed and edited 2 really fun videos with Tony Hawk and Aaron "Jaws" Homoki for Sony Cameras. The idea was to take these two incredible skaters into a Zero Gravity environment and capture them attempting tricks they could only dream about on ground. The shoot was incredibly difficult because of the small crew allowed, low light and of course...no gravity making it very hard to frame and compose your shots. Luckily we planned to shoot in 4k and output in HD which gave us the extra pixels to recompose in post. Despite the difficulties it was the most fun I've ever had shooting and would do it again in a heartbeat.
